(Preposition)UNDER

BORN UNDER: to have a particular type of luck at birth. Ashu was born
under lucky stars.
COME UNDER: be criticised, be under an authority, be influenced. His
suggestion came under criticism.
FALL UNDER: be ina particular category. The story falls under fables.
GO UNDER: fail, lose significance and power. Many dynasties have gone
under since time immemorial.
GO UNDER: sink into a liquid. He went under water and remained there
for a minute.
GO UNDER: be under an implement like a plough, moving machine etc. The
waste land may soon go under a plough.
GROAN UNDER: suffer. the poor  groan under the weight of exploitation.
*GET UNDER: kaboo mein hona.The fire could not be got under by any
effort and the whole of the building was reduced to ashes.
*KEEP UNDER: to hold in subjection, to control or restrain. It is the
duty of the government to keep these terrorists under control.
KNUCKLE UNDER: forced to do something, accept somebody's authority.

LABOUR UNDER: believe something that is not true. They laboured under
a delusion that they would be rewarded adequately.
PULL UNDER: drag below the surface. The crocodile pulled the dead
animal under water.
SNOW UNDER: have more work than you can manage. She was snowed under
correspondence.
JAM INTO/ON/UNDER:to push hard. She jammed all her dresses into a small box.
